An 8-Week Facilitated Group Program for Youth & Caregivers Integrating EFFT, DBT, & Interpersonal Neurobiology to build resilience, skills and connection.

Steady Ground is an 8-week, parallel-stream group program for families navigating school anxiety and school avoidance.
Caregivers and children/youth meet concurrently in separate, developmentally matched group sessions, with two full joint family sessions woven into the program. The program can also flex to a hybrid model, adding individual family check-ins between group sessions where clinically indicated.
The curriculum integrates three frameworks throughout:
Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) — Emotion coaching focusing on the cycle of relational rupture & repair
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills —Skill development focusing on mindfulness, distress tolerance for both caregivers & youth
Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) —Exploring the window of tolerance & co-regulation creating shared language
The program culminates in with an individual care plan for each family, marking the family's return-to-school journey and consolidating gains before transition to independent practice or continued individual care.

Providing support in navigating parenting through separation to minimize conflict & build a family transition plan.
Nurturing the foundation of the family to promote a positive direction forward for the entire family.
